Hunting & Gathering Our Tree

Last year, we waited until we felt like decorating to go hunt our tree, and by then it was too late and everything was already dehydrating to a piney crisp. This year we decided we might as well go get first pick and get it in some water, then let it wait under our watchful care until we were ready to start decorating.

Let the record show that the tree that came home with us this year is the first tree Audrey spotted.

Our straight and full tannenbaum is one of the better ones we've had in quite a while. She is currently standing in our formal living room, right by the front door, hydrating and opening up and making our whole house smell amazing. Our usual rhythm is to wait until a week or so into December to start decking the halls, but having our evergreen up and right in the thick of a major house thoroughfare has made us all a little giddy to start hauling out the Christmas gear.

She may not be naked for long.
