This weekend saw some freakishly warm weather for about a day and a half, so we all rushed outside to take full advantage- we got our lit trees up in the front, we got the chicken coop cleaned out and fortified for winter (heated waterer, extra hay, breezeways closed up) and discovered in the process that they've suddenly started laying again! We also had the soccer team back out to play and to distribute their trophies because they took second place in their league for the fall season (so proud of Hen!). There was also some bee feeding, some Suka games, some grilling, and an exceptionally beautiful sunset.

Not bad for the only weekend with no plans in December.

So... only one solid week left before Christmas, huh? Better stop playing around and get back to work! Happy Monday!

This Moment

Heading out the door, kids already in the car, dog barking at squirrels, a rooster crowing in the distance. Frost on the grass, perfectly still. Full moon setting behind me. A beautiful morning.

Our Tannenbaum

We finally went and hunted and gathered our tree, and I must say, it was a challenge this year! We had to make more than one stop and finally settle for a tree a bit shorter than what we were looking for (we set quite a precedent last year, if you'll remember ), as so many of them were so sparse and picked over! But we finally found The One, got it home, and got it decked... with a few breaks here and there for soup and pj's, of course...

Audrey and Henry were ridiculously hyper the entire time we were decorating and honestly, I'm not sure how we made it through the process, but I love our evergreen this year, and I really hope we picked one that will last...

...I think my Littles feel the same.
