Catching Up: Holidays

Our story in this space left off on the cusp of The Big Holiday... and so there we shall pick back up- with our merry and bright celebrations.

Solstice 2018: it was actually chilly for the Solstice this time around, but we had run out of firewood! We had our special feast by candlelight and treelight, then opened the Solstice Bag and spent the rest of the night playing magnetic mini-board games.

Christmas with Mimmy & Pappy: Mimmy Pappy came up to our place to celebrate, and we had a traditional turkey dinner (while trying to keep overly-excited Suka from smashing Tommy the whole time), then sipped wine and opened presents. We were gifted an entire Game of Thrones house goblet set, hand-made by my mom and freaking awesome. Audrey and Henry both received wands that they carried around with them nonstop for weeks afterwards.

Christmas with Nanny, Grammy & Gramps: Continuing with the Harry Potter theme, Santa brought Audrey and Henry a Marauder's Map, some real parchment and a quill with an inkwell, and wands that could cast spells on their tablets. Audrey and Henry gave Grammy & Gramps tickets to a show in the spring that turned out to be a great show (or so they reported!).

Now of course there have been other holidays and reasons to celebrate since December, for example...

Henry's (part blurry, dark, & loud) 8th Birthday: Henry chose a party at the GlowZone for his birthday, and the whole even is pretty accurately represented by the dark, blurry pictures below. It was also about as loud as you'd think. It was a fun place, though we made sure we balanced it out on  his actual birthday, which was way more low-key.

Easter 2019: We spent Easter morning hunting eggs in pj's, then went over to a friend's house for the afternoon. He had la oveja on a home-made spit, another round of eggs for the kiddos to hunt, and just about the most perfect weather you could ask for.

And then most recently we had the Summer Solstice, which saw us at the water park and later poolside at a friend's house, and therefore we have no photos to show for it. It was a good time, though.

So now we're all caught up with the last 6 months' worth of (significant) celebrations. Coming up next, catching up on where we've been visitin'!
